Jack Wills Nail Varnish | Orchid

This is most definitely a love hate product.
I absolutely adore the colour and shine when it has dried, but oh my it takes forever to dry.

I decided to use a base coat with this, for some reason i thought it might stain my nails. It took around 5 minutes to dry, with me sticking my hands in water for an extra 2 minutes. Even now, 30 minutes later i am still smudging it. Any tips on how to get this to not smudge?

So aside from the drying issues, i love it. The colour is great. A gorgeous shade of purple. Once it has dried (to some extent) it is very glossy and shiny. I have worn this before today and it does last a good few days before chipping off. The price, £6.50 is a bit steep considering my fave Boots 17 Varnishes range from £2.99 to £3.99 and i believe are much better, but what do you expect for a jack wills product?

Essie Mademoiselle - Nail Polish Review

Everyone seems to be jumping on the hype of cheap Essie lately, and as a nail polish junkie i snapped up the chance when i saw a website was selling them for £1.99. Bargain right? If you want to check the website out its HERE. I have heard so many reviews about Essie so thought i would give them a go for myself. 

I purchased 2 shades. Bangle Jangle and Mademoiselle. 

When i first saw Mademoiselle i thought it would be a milky pink colour that comes out the same colour as it is in the bottle. It is a gorgeous milky pink, however when you apply one coat it just gives a nice shine to your nails. The second coat gives you a little bit of colour but nothing that changed the colour of your nails dramatically, say if you put a bright red over. I kept layering up the coats to see if i could get anything similar to the bottle, like i expected i would, but after 4 coats i could still see the whites of my tips. 

Top - 1 Coat

Apologies for it being a bit blurry, the monster was trying to help and i just couldnt get my camera to focus. 

Even though this particular shade didn't live up to my expectations, it is a great base coat for doing a manicure and I'm pretty sure i will get my use out of it as a base coat. I like the natural looking shine it gives off. It isn't the fastest nail polish i own, but that isn't an issue. Just means i have to be extra careful while waiting for it to dry. 

I would say this nail polish is actually the perfect shade to wear if you are at school or work that doesnt allow nail polish. It doesnt give a colour to your nails just a nice gloss.

(Please excuse the very dirty background and the slightly smudged thumb nail, the little monster aka my almost 2 (going on 20) year old daughter and her sticky fingers wanted to help. She to has 1 coat on and likes it) 

NOTD - Turquoise Crackle

Bare with me guys, I'm trying something new so I can quickly upload these kinds of posts. If it doesn't work well, I'll stop.

If I haven't mentioned it before, in a self confessed nail varnish junkie.
My current favourite is a white nail crackle/quake/smash with ANY colour underneath.
Today I have the misguided varnish in
'misstique' and the Collection (2000) nail smash in '2 white smash'.

NOTD | Glitzy Pastel Nails

 There is a very rare chance that i am not wearing nail varnish and I am completely loving wearing multicoloured nails lately. I decided to jazz it up with a glitter top coat.

Rimmel Nail Polish Review - Green With Envy.

This is my latest nail polish purchase. I can honestly say i have a little love for nail polishes lately :) They are definitely the first thing i look at in the make up sections. 

This little lovely was bought for me by my sister. As i said in a previous post i have been having a pretty bad week, and as she is my sister has too. Elizabeth (my sister) decided that she wanted to do some retail therapy to make her self, and me, feel a little better. We were just going to get drunk in a pub somewhere but seeing as neither of us drink it wasn't the best of ideas. 

Anyway..... 

 This is such a beautiful colour. I would describe it as a metallic sea blue. 

It takes 2 coats to get the colour in the packaging, but it is very pigmented and goes on so well. It has a very thick brush so doesn't take long at all to apply. I love Rimmel polishes for this. 

This picture above is was taken today, Tuesday, and the nail polish was applied on Saturday. I have NO base coat and NO top coat. Pretty good going ey? No chips and only i tiny bit of wear on my middle finger.

Definitely a good purchase, by my sister :)
